This endorsement comes after Jennifer led a community delegation of local leaders alongside UnityPoint Nurses and Teamsters 90 demanding recognition of their union
Des Moines, IA - Teamsters Local 90 announced their endorsement of Jennifer Konfrst's campaign for Iowa’s Third Congressional district as she challenges Congressman Zach Nunn.
This endorsement highlights Konfrst's strong record of standing with organized labor and working Iowans. In the Iowa House, Konfrst was a tireless voice for labor and was the lead sponsor and author of a constitutional amendment to put collective bargaining rights into Iowa's state constitution.
“Teamsters Local 90 are proud to endorse Jennifer Konfrst for Congress,” said Teamsters 90 Principal Officer Alano De La Rosa. “Jennifer has stood up for labor in the Iowa House every day and always has our backs. We know that she'll be the fighter we need in Congress.”
“I’m honored to have the endorsement and support of Teamsters Local 90,” said Jennifer Konfrst. “I’ve been proud to stand with them as they fight alongside UnityPoint nurses in their campaign to win union recognition, to ensure workplace safety, and to secure fair wages. I’m a third-generation union member and the daughter of a nurse— this fight is in my bones, and I promise I’m ready to fight like hell for working Iowans in Congress.”
Konfrst is an active member of AAUP (the American Association of University Professors), an affiliate of AFT (the American Federation of Teachers) and the only union member in this race. She's running for Congress to make sure working Iowans have a voice who knows their struggles in Washington and will fight to protect union rights, raise wages, lower costs, create good-paying jobs, and root out the corporate greed and corruption that's rigging our economy against them.
